Since writing my first "book" in grade school, I knew I wanted to be an author. The dream was tucked away in my heart and I wrote mostly in secret, squeezing in words here and there between wife/mother/career duties.
In 2013, I realized it was now or never! I published my first book (He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not) in November, retired from my successful restaurant/ gift shop in December, and dedicated myself to writing full-time. My second book (The Girl from Her Mirror) was written while seven extra people were living in my house. It was excellent therapy! Since then, I've written a dozen or so more and have many more floating around in my head. (Sometimes it gets really crowded up there.)
My retirement? It was short-lived. As if a writing career weren't enough, I re-opened my store two days a week. We now sell antiques (no food!) and lots of books. If you're ever in Normangee, Texas, you'll find Becki's Cottage right on Main Street. Stop in, I'd love to meet you!
I love to know more about you, the reader -- where you're from, what you like, what you'd like to read next.. Feel free to email me anytime at email@example.com, or sign up for our newsletter!
